This Summer, you will see women wearing lots of full skirts, some long and some short. They will come in lots of different prints and solids. They can be worn dressed up for a night on the town or with a pair of your favorite sandals for a casual day look. They’re very versatile.
Some of them will have a large band around the waist and a zipper in the back. This style is harder to wear if you’re larger in the middle, because there is no give, but perfect for the person with a very small waist. The easier style to wear is one that has elastic around the waist or only in back, this way if you’re a little fuller in the middle, you can still make it work. These skirts can be worn at the waist or above the waist, as a high waist skirt. Most of them come with a belt in the same pattern to add a little extra flare. It can be tied in the front or in the back.
If you want to hide large hips, this is the skirt for you. Because it flares out, no one will concentrate on your hips. On the other hand if you don’t have hips and want the illusion of them, this skirt will work for you as well, because of the flaring, it makes you look like you at least have some hips. Since our objective when dressing is to look more balanced, you want to wear pants with straight or flared legs. Your pants should have solid colors or have small print. Wear your bold prints on top to draw the eye upward. Because your legs are small compared to your hips and backside stay away from skinny pants and jeans as they will make you look like an ice cream cone. Have fun and know that most women would love to have those hips 🙂
