October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month is happy and sad for me. My mother died from Breast Cancer at the age of 47, but my sister has gone through two rounds of breast cancer in the last 8 years and is now a cancer survivor. I feel so blessed to still have my sister here with me. I cherish family so much more realizing that they can be taken away in an instant.
My sister and I love going shopping whenever we are together. I think anyone who knows us, knows this about us. Not that we spend a lot of money, but we just enjoy finding great deals. This month means even more since she just recently had her second Breast Cancer surgery and is doing well. She is so blessed to have made it through her second Cancer scare. So to celebrate, guess what she and I will do? Go SHOPPING…….
In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month I thought this Fashion Friday I would feature outfits that are a “nod” to the Month, without going too over the top. The outfits are mostly using the awareness color. This is something you can do if you don’t have the Breast Cancer merchandise on hand.
You’ll see lots of chunky jewelry this fall. Earrings are larger and not as dainty. We’ve gone back and forth on the earrings, but this year, big is “in.” Larger necklaces have been in style for a while and will continue to be that way. Chunky bracelets and watches will continue to be the “thing”. Of course you have to choose what works best for the outfit you’re wearing, your face shape and your body size, but don’t think too hard. Just go with it. Do what feels good to you.
Jewelry is one of those things that shows people who you are. It’s a statement piece. Some of us like to pour it on and others like to dabble in it. neither is right or wrong. It’s what works best for you. But the fashion forward person is going to know just the right amount of jewelry to wear with each outfit depending on the look she wants to portray.
The fashion forward person would wear jewelry with a T-shirt and could pull it off perfectly. Don’t try this if you’re not confident about it. Whatever you choose to do, you must feel confident doing it. Don’t wear something just because it looks good on someone else.
Take the Fashion Trends and make them fit into your style. And remember not all trends work for everyone. If the trend is not for you, skip it. See some fabulous Fashion Jewelry for this fall below:
